Narmada River is considered the life line of Gujarat. Fifty-six years
after the foundation stone for the Sardar Sarovar dam on the Narmada
River was laid, the Gujarat government got the permission from the
center to shut the gates of the dam which opens the doors of prosperity
in Gujarat. The problem of water scarcity will not exist anymore. The
government has decided to celebrate “Ma Narmada Mahotsav” for the
completion of Sardar Sarovar dam work. To involve people in the grand
celebrations, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched a website –
www.narmadamahotsav.gujarat.gov.in. District collector Dr. Kuldeep
Aarya requested people to participate in the competition.
The registration of the competition will remain open until 25 July. The
medium of the competition will be the Gujarati language. There will be
three categories for competition – students of schools up to 10th std,
college and university students and general category. It is mandatory to
mention the name of school or college, respected teacher and
principal’s name and mobile number for the students. While for general
category only mobile number is mandatory.
Anyone can participate in one or more than one competition. Participants
have to showcase their originality in their creativity. People can make
online registration for the competitions like Poem recitation, essay
writing, Slogan writing, average 1-minute documentary film stating the
benefit and success story due to Narmada water. Participants upload
poem, slogan, success story and essay writing using the word file or PDF
file in Shruti font. While for uploading a video clip, MP4 or AVi file
has to be used.
The winner will be awarded the prize in each category. In which, the
first winner will be awarded Rs. 25,000; the second winner will be
awarded Rs. 15,000 while the third winner will be awarded Rs. 10,000.
The winners will be acknowledged by the media and government will honor
the winners in a scheduled programs.
