According to our mythology, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati got married on the day of Mahashivratri. So according to another belief, on this day Brahma was incarnated as Rudra, so Mahashivratri is celebrated on this day.

The festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated for Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. According to the Hindu Panchag, the festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated on the 4th of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Phagal. We believe that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married on this day. On the day of Mahashivratri, 12 Jyotirlingas of God were also revealed. Visiting 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva on this day has special spiritual significance.

This time, Mahashivratri will start at 9.57 pm on March 8 and end at 6.17 pm the next day. According to the Tithi, Mahashivratri will be celebrated on March 8 only. Mahashivratri worship will be done in Nishita period only.

  • Nishita period: March 8 12.05 pm to March 9 12.56 pm.
  • First Shub Muhurta: March 8 will start at 6.25 PM and end at 9.28 PM.
  • Biju Shubh Muhurta: Starts at 9.28 PM on March 8 and ends at 12.31 PM on March 9
  • Third auspicious muhurta: March will start at 12.31 pm and end at 3.34 am.
  • Fourth auspicious muhurta: It will be from 3.34 am to 6.37 am.
  • Do this remedy to please Shivaji
  • On the day of Mahashivratri, people take special measures to please Bholanath and get his blessings.

Problems in married life: People who have problems in married life should put the married picture of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati in the place of worship on the day of Mahashivratri and worship them regularly to get the blessings of Bholanath.
