Green license plate is mandatory on all electric vehicles registered in India. However, there is a difference in the color of the letters depending on the personal or commercial vehicle. All personal electric vehicles get green number plates with white letters and commercial electric vehicles are fitted with green number plates with yellow letters.

Whenever you see a red number plate on the roads, understand that the vehicle has been purchased recently. A red colored number plate means that this vehicle has only been fitted with a temporary number plate so far. After buying a new car, you will have to use a red number plate until a permanent number plate is installed.
Blue Number Plate – Blue Number Plate
Vehicles reserved for foreign diplomats have blue number plates with white lettering. Blue colored number plates have letters like CC (Consular Corps), UN (United Nations), DC (Diplomatic Corps) etc. written on them. Also this number plate does not have state code. Instead, the diplomat's country code is inserted.
