Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023: Ever since Union Minister Smriti Irani opened her MSSC account on April 26, the scheme has gained a lot of buzz.

Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023:

Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana has been launched from 1st April.
This scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the Budget.

This is a deposit scheme launched especially for women with better interest rates.
Ever since Union Minister Smriti Irani stood in line at the post office on Parliament Street to open her account under the scheme on April 26, the buzz about MSSC has grown.

After opening the account, Smriti Irani also tweeted and appealed to young girls to take advantage of this small scheme.

At what age can women open an account?


Any woman can open her account under Mahila Samman Savings Yojana.

For girls below 18 years of age, their parents can open this account.
That means women of all ages can take advantage of this scheme.

What are the benefits of the plan?

Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana is a scheme to motivate women to save.
In this scheme, women get interest at the rate of 7.5 percent.
This scheme offers the benefit of compound interest and the interest is calculated on a quarterly basis.
In such a situation, through this scheme, women get a lot of profit on the deposited amount.

When can the account be opened?

This post office scheme is currently valid for two years.
This can be invested till 31 March 2025.
Any woman can invest in it from 1000 rupees to 2 lakh rupees.

How can you open an account?

To open an MSSC account, you have to visit the nearest post office branch.
Here you have to fill Account Opening Form-1.
Along with this, copies of KYC documents like Aadhaar card and PAN card and other necessary documents have to be given.

What are the withdrawal rules?

The scheme matures in two years.
After two years you get your deposit back with interest.
But if you need money in between, you can withdraw up to 40% of the deposited money after completion of 1 year.
That is, if you have deposited 2 lakh rupees, after one year you can withdraw 80 thousand rupees.

What are the rules for premature closure?

Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana account can be closed after six months of opening the account if the account holder falls seriously ill or dies.

But in this case the money is returned by reducing the interest rate by 2%.
In this case, interest will be paid at the rate of 5.5 percent.

Are tax benefits available in this scheme?

All post office schemes provide tax benefits, but this scheme does not mention any provision of tax benefits.
