But leading players in the home loan sector, State Bank of India (SBI) and HDFC Ltd. (HDFC Ltd.) has offered home loans at a discounted introductory rate of 8.40 percent under the festive offer.
Festival Home Loan Offer
A statement issued by SBI said that its home loan figure has crossed Rs 6 lakh crore. This is the highest loan given by any bank in this sector. The bank has offered festive discounts for home loan borrowers on this occasion. Under this, the bank will give a discount of 0.25 percent in interest. Thus, the interest rate for the initial level loan will be 8.40 percent.
28 lakh people took home loan from SBI
This offer given by the bank will be available till January 31, 2023. According to the bank, under the festive offer, discounts of up to 0.25 per cent on home loans, 0.15 per cent on home loans (top-line) and 0.30 per cent on loans against property mortgages will be offered. On this achievement, SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara said that more than 28 lakh people have taken home loans from the bank.
HDFC, on the other hand, has offered new borrowers a 0.20 per cent discount or concessional rate of 8.40 per cent. According to HDFC's website, the festive discount offer is valid till November 30. Also, lower rates will be applicable to borrowers who have a 'Credit Score' of at least 750. HDFC said its home loan figure for the June quarter stood at Rs. 5.36 lakh crores
