Shortcut virus in our desktop computer or in our pen drive or mobile is a
very annoying problem. It actually shows when some one attach their
affected pen drive with our computer or laptop and our computer or
laptop also gets affected with this shortcut virus. Actually this is not
a virus rather this is a “VBS Script”. If you want to remove shortcut
virus from your computer permanently then you will have to follow the
below steps
-Step For Computers Which are not Affected by Shortcut Virus:
If your computer is still not affected by the shortcut virus but you
want to be in the safe side, then the below steps are for you,
Go to the “Run” of your computer. (just press windows button + r and
then you will get the Run tab.)Now, you wil have to write wscript.exe
and need to press on ENTER.Set 1 to “Stop script after specified number
of seconds” and then click “Apply” and OK.Great! You are done and
secured now. No shortcut virus from others computer will not enter into
your computer now.
- Step For a Computers Which are Already Affected by Shortcut Virus:
Press on Ctl+Shift+EscGo to process tabNow select wscript.exe fileClick
on “End Process”Go to the C:/ of your computerSearch wscript in the
search boxAll the files that comes out with the name wscript, delete
them with shift+deleteThose files which are not getting deleted, skip
those.Now, go to the RUNyou wil have to write wscript.exe and need to
press on ENTER.Set 1 to “Stop script after specified number of seconds”
and then click “Apply” and OK.Great! Your computer is now shortcut virus
free
- Step for the Affected Pen Drive:
Attach your pen drive to your computer through the USBNow, go to cmd (go
to run and then type cmd then press enter to go to command)Type the
drive letter of your pen drive (like for my case the pen drive drive
letter is E:)Write this code correctly attrib -s -h /s /d *.*Press
on ENTERCheck whether you can see all your files in your pendrive or
notKeep the important files from your pen drive and then format your
pendriveTo format files from command window just write format and it
will ask for your confirmation, confirm and start formatting.Following
the above steps you can keep your computer or pen drive shortcut virus
