GSET 2017 or Gujarat SET 2017 is
the 12th Gujarat State Eligibility Test. Maharaja Sayajirao University
of Baroda, Vadodara will conduct Gujarat SET 2017 at six centers namely
Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Patan, and Bhavnagar. State Agency
will hold exam for 23 subjects.

GSET 2017 Complete Details
Age limit – There is no upper age limit.
Educational qualification – Candidates must have complete or are studying in final year of UGC specified Masters degree.
Selection process –
There will be three papers in GSET 2017. Paper I will have 60 questions
out of which 50 will be compulsory. Whereas Paper II and Paper III will
have 50 and 75 questions each.
How to apply – Fill and submit GSET 2017 Application Form at www.gujaratset.ac.in.
Application fee – Rs 800 for General and OBC candidates. Rs 700 for SC / ST / PH / VH candidates.
GSET 2017 Application Form
The 12th Gujarat SET will be conducted on 27th August 2017. In order to
fill application form, candidates have to pay application fee through
bank challan. In the first place they will download bank challan from
official website of GSET 2017, www.gujaratset.ac.in. After 24 hours of
generating challan, they can pay fee at bank branch (Bank of Baroda).
Then they can enter data in GSET 2017 Application Form and submit form.

GSET 2017 Hall Ticket
Candidates
can download hall ticket before exam. State agency, Maharaja Sayajirao
University of Baroda, Vadodara, will release GSET 2017 Hall Ticket 7
days prior to Examination day. No hall ticket will be sent to the
candidates by post. The candidates should download their hall ticket
from the website to ascertain their venue of GSET Examination as
mentioned in the Hall Ticket and appear in the examination only at the
designated examination center. No candidate will be allowed to appear at
the examination center other than that allotted to him/her in the Hall
Ticket.
GSET 2017 Exam Date
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara has announced that Gujarat SET 2017 will be on 27 August 2017.
Exam Pattern
Gujarat Government conducts State Eligibility Test (GSET) on 27th August
2017 (Sunday) for determining the Eligibility of Gujarat state’s
candidates for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of
Gujarat State.

candidates shall be eligible to apply for Assistant Professor will be
governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant
Professor of the concerned Universities / Colleges / State Government of
Gujarat State, as the case may be.
MSU
Baroda will hold Paper I and II in first session (9.30 AM to 10.45 AM,
and 11 AM to 12.15 PM). Whereas Paper III will be in second session (2
PM to 4.30 PM).
- Paper 1 is of general nature. Correspondingly, it will assess teaching/research aptitude. There will be questions on reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. To point out, only 50 questions will be compulsory.
- Paper 2 will have questions on subject selected by the candidate, significantly, all will be compulsory.
- Similarly, Paper 3 will also have questions on subject selected by the candidate.
GSET 2017 Syllabus
Many candidates who appear for state level eligibility tests also appear in UGC NET or CSIR NET.
In view of that, state agency has kept GSET Syllabus same as UGC / CSIR
NET. Thus it is easier for candidates to prepare for Gujarat State
Eligibility Test.

All in all there are 23 subjects. This is in fact three subjects more
than last time GSET. Candidates should particularly select subject
eligible for only.
Answer Key
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (M.S. University) as state
agency will declare GSET Answer Key 2017 on official portal at
gujaratset.ac.in.
Nevertheless, there are also chances that coaching centers will release
unofficial keys after exam. Be that as it may, candidates can refer to
GSET 2017 Answer Key to know correct answers. Also they will be able to
estimate score and analyze selection chances using answer key.
After exam candidates will get GSET 2017 Question Paper and Answer Key.
ResultTo qualify State Eligibility Test, candidate must obtain cut off
marks and be in top 15% in subject and category wise merit list. Result
of Gujarat SET 2017 will be declared few weeks after exam. Candidates
can simply log in to check result. Details of cut off marks and
preparation of merit list are explained below.
Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in Gujarat SET (GSET) for considering a candidate for eligibility for Assistant Professor:

Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list
will be prepared subjectwise and category-wise using the aggregate marks
of all the three papers secured by such candidates.
Step III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the
merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared Gujarat SET (GSET)
qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor. It may be noted
that the above qualifying criteria decided by GSET is final and binding.
There is no provision of re – evaluations of papers.
